Abstract: With analysis of the international high-tech competition and the national social-economic needs as promoting changes in development mode, and for resolving key issues in future development, the article proposes recommendation on major developing fields. Basis on the study of current development stage and characteristics in China’s economic and science & technology development, the key technology priorities focus on how to gain competitive edge in leading technologies, cultivating growth points in strategic industries, and developing science and technology related to people’s livelihood were recommended. This article aims at providing reference for the national high-tech development planning and selecting of key areas in the “12th Five-Year Plan.”
